God is Amazing and He Loves You !
God is great beyond words and wonderful beyond imagination. He loves you personally with a love that surpasses anything you will ever experience. God made you. He gave you your first breath and He even knows when you will breathe your last.
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 The Bible
Sin has Caused a Separation between Man and God
Sin is a word used to describe anything that stands between us and God – anything that creates separation, anything that God finds offensive. We know when we do or say something that offends a loved one, it tends to cause a “distance” in the relationship. In the same way, our sin has created a distance between us and God. Though the world and everything in the world (including us) was created by God, it has been separated from God and heaven because of sin.
The Bible likens sin to the worst of diseases – a terminal deadly cancer that seeks to destroy your ability to have the right relationship with God during your life here on earth. And ultimately, unless dealt with, sin creates a permanent separation from God upon our death. We are not only infected by the disease of sin in the world, but we are also infected by the choices we make - and the things that we think and do that are sinful (like lying, or envy or jealousy).
We are Separated, but Still Showered with His Goodness
God's presence is like the sun, which daily breathes the essentials of life into earth, even though it is separated from the earth. He sustains us all and gives us the opportunity to experience life. Though we are influenced daily by His presence and provision, this separation from God and heaven caused by sin falls tragically short of God’s plan for your life.
God has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life and Future
God’s plan for you is unmistakable and clear. God wants you to have a beautiful relationship with Him here on earth and for you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. He has planned a permanent home for us in heaven – free from the pain, sorrow and death caused by sin. Heaven is a place beyond anything we could ever hope for or imagine.
God had to deal with Sin in order for You to Inherit this Relationship and this Future
The effect of sin on the world, on the history of all mankind and on the story of our lives is profound and tragic. Most of us have heart-wrenching stories to tell of the pain and wreckage sin creates in life. God being just, and with this glorious eternal plan in mind, knew that all our sins must be accounted for. Sin left unaccounted for produces death. That death (or disease) will never enter his presence or the kingdom of heaven He has prepared for us. The penalty for the crime of the disease of sin, that has wreaked havoc on earth in the hearts and lives of people – must be paid in full.
God also Knew that in Our Own Strength, We are Powerless to Overcome the Separation Caused by Sin (the world's and ours)
The Bible makes it clear that we will never be able to overcome the distance created by sin through our own efforts or how good we are. Just like the law of gravity keeps us bound to the earth – sin makes our own efforts utterly powerless to restore the right relationship with God or to enter heaven.
Foreseeing this Day You Would Seek to know Him, in Advance, God Sent Jesus, His Son to Take the Full Punishment for Your Sins
God's solution to man's problem was to give of himself, desiring that none would perish. Knowing the futility of our own efforts, God, compelled by His great love, allowed His Son Jesus to take the disease of sin into his own body. And in an ironic twist, the people of Jesus' time, though being sinful themselves took Jesus, who had never sinned, tried Him and though His judge found Jesus innocent – released Jesus to the crowds to be nailed to a cross unto death. Though they had no real power over the Son of God, Jesus willingly gave His own life that we may someday live with Him in heaven. As Jesus and the scriptures had foretold; Jesus after three days rose from the dead and appeared to over 500 before ascending into heaven.
Jesus paid the price for your sins; those you have already committed, and those you will commit in the future. Just as good parents make sacrifices to prepare for needs children will have later in life, Jesus willingly paid the full price for your sins in advance. He did this so that one day – maybe this day – you would believe in Him and enter into a new relationship with God.
After three days in a tomb, Jesus arose from the dead. He told his followers to spread the good news the world has always needed –news for all mankind, for every culture, for every land - that Jesus Christ had conquered death and paid the penalty for all sins. To tell them that because of this everyone that believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. And for anyone who receive Jesus as Lord, they will receive the seal of the Holy Spirit – that is God’s Holy Spirit entering your body as a sign of your adoption into His kingdom. The Holy Spirit is a magnificent help to guide you in the ways of the Lord.
Jesus Christ was the cure, the savior, for the disease of sin. Not that we would be completely free from the pain it brings, but free from its power to keep us from a right relationship with God here on earth. And though our physical bodies will perish, we will be made new with glorified bodies for eternity in God’s heaven.
God's amazing gift to all mankind was free in that there is nothing we can do to earn it or deserve it. The gift of the forgiveness for our sins is through faith in the completed work of God’s son, Jesus Christ. And the gift of the Holy Spirit - God’s evidence that He doesn’t want to spend another day with distance between you and Him. This is the Good News of God that has radically changed the lives of people for over two thousand years.
All Real Relationships Require Mutual Consent.
The saving and life changing relationship that God planned for you since before you were born relies on you placing trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior and receive the Holy Spirit.
